I'm a freshman from Orem, and I basically grew up on the BYU campus since both my parents are professors here. I did lots of theatre throughout junior high and high school, and my favorite roles were Dogberry in "Much Ado About Nothing" and Black Stache in "Peter and the Starcatcher." I also love to write, mainly poetry and creative non-fiction. I plan on writing plays in the future as well. I also love to play the piano and video games in my spare time.

What has been the most significant plot twist in your life?

It honestly wasn't a plot twist for me, but everyone expected me to do the acting or MDT program since that's what I did all throughout high school. I do love theatre and plan to perform the rest of my life, but I don't want to stake a career on auditioning every day.

What are your favorite books?/What are you currently reading?

One of my favorite books is The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton it's also one of my favorite movies too I'm a big fan of period classics Right now I'm reading The Picture of Dorian Gray.

What are three things that can always be found in your pantry/refrigerator?

Cheez-Its, Chips Ahoy and lots of fruit.

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?

My parent suggested that I look into it, and while taking the introduction courses, I really liked the idea of taking special topics to cover GEs. I also felt like it would be a good challenge for me, and really vary the kinds of things I was learning about.

What has been your favorite Honors experience?

I haven't been in the program very long, but I've really loved my first unexpected-connections class so far. It's a study of supernatural creatures in literature and bio-chemistry, taught by Julie Allen and Jason Kenealey. I really love this part of the program---it makes it much more exciting to take GEs.

What is your next step in Honors?

Right now, I'm working on my mission papers so I'm not sure what I'll be doing in the program when I come back. I'm planning on taking the next unexpected connection class, but I don't know what section/topic.
