Faculty Fellows
The Honors Program is accepting individual applications from faculty interested in becoming an Honors Faculty Fellow during the 2026-27 academic year.
The deadline for submission of application materials is April 1, 2026.
The heart of the Honors curriculum is a series of semester-long interdisciplinary Unexpected Connections courses (3.0 credits) that fulfill two GE requirements. These courses are taught by two faculty from different academic disciplines who explore a question of mutual interest together with highly engaged and committed students. Faculty Fellows also have the opportunity to participate in program events and mentor Honors students.
Eligibility: Candidates must be full-time professorial or professional faculty with an outstanding teaching record.
Renumeration: Faculty Fellows receive a salary stipend of $4,000. An additional $3,000 is available to either compensate the home department for the cost of hiring a replacement, or as research funds for the faculty fellow if the Honors course is taught as overload.
Application: Interested faculty should submit the following to Julie Radle, Assistant Director of the Honors Program (julie_radle@byu.edu):
- Candidate name, academic rank, department and college.
- Indication of departmental and college support.
- A list of courses taught.
- An abbreviated curriculum vitae.
Any questions about the Honors Faculty Fellowship or the Honors Program can be directed to Eric Dursteler, Honors Program Director (ericd@byu.edu).
