Requirements
This section provides a brief overview of the requirements to graduate with University Honors. Staff in the Honors Program Advisement Center, 102 MSRB, (801) 422-5497, are available on a walk-in basis or scheduled appointment to answer questions about the program.
To join the Honors Program, a student must first enroll as a Pre-Honors student, register for HONRS 110 and HONRS 120, and complete a commitment interview meeting.
Before scheduling this meeting, the student must complete these items:
- Letter of Intent – a written statement demonstrating the student’s academic motivation and goals, intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and intended contributions to the Honors community.
- Honors Academic Plan – a plan outlining how the student intends to complete all required Honors courses.
- Upload both documents to the Honors Advisement office.
Schedule a commitment interview with an Honors student advisor as soon as you have uploaded the letter of intent and Honors academic plan
To graduate with University Honors, a student must be an admitted daytime student who attains a 3.0 or higher GPA and completes all of the requirements below or see requirements here. Students must earn a B or higher in Honors courses for Honors Program credit.
