Welcome to the newest student advisor in the Honors Program Office, Landon Shumway! Landon is a sophomore in the Honors Program and is looking forward to working with the students in his new position. His favorite part about the Honors Program is making friends with professors who might be hard to reach otherwise.  When you have 30 minutes of free time, what do you do?

Plan something with friends or clean the house. Cleaning is therapeutic.

 Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?

I was homeschooled, and the interdisciplinary, discussion-based classes in the Honors Program are very similar to what I was used to with the groups I was part of in high school.

 What is your next step in Honors?

Doing my LDE!

 What advice would you have as an advisor to new students?

Meet with your TA's often and stay after class to talk with your professors. Having relationships with them helps so much.
