I am an Arizona girl through and through as I was born and raised in Tucson AZ! Regardless of the temperature, I love the outdoors! I love hiking and swimming and I am totally down to try new things (especially snow sports!). I love learning and I am planning on going to law school after I graduate. I want to help people and I believe business can be a vehicle for a lot of good in the world. Hopefully I can create a unique change with my love of business, law, and social impact to help make the world just a little bit better!

What are people often surprised to learn about you?

That I am currently a paralegal at a law firm.

What is something you wish everyone knew about your major/field of study?

That it is not chess! Just kidding but it is actually a super in depth look into how a company aligns its mission and goals to create a competitive advantage in the market place. It teaches more then just simple optimization it is a pattern of critical thinking and data analysis to solve complex problems! I think it is super cool!

What has been the most significant plot twist in your life?

I think one of the most significant plot twists of my life would be serving my mission. For one I was a COVID missionary so I was assigned to Buenos Aires, Argentina and served my whole mission in Pocatello, Idaho. That was an adjustment for me! Also the entirety of the experience of serving was so insightful for me and changed so much about how I viewed myself and the world it was definitely unexpected but amazing!

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?

I decided to join the Honors Program because I loved the interdisciplinary view that is applied to learning. I love being able to see the unique connections between different subjects. I wanted to see the connections across disciplines and I loved the excitement that came with the program. (Also lowkey bragging rights. Saying you're in Honors is like automatic street cred)

What has been your favorite Honors experience?

I love the Unexpected Connection classes! I love seeing how different disciplines come together in really unique ways. My Birds and Music class allowed me to see the world around me in a new and exciting way as I had never really listened to birdsong that intensely before. I also loved my Physics and History class where we learned about the history and making of the atomic bomb! It was so cool to understand more of the science in reference to the timeline of the history.

What is your next step in Honors? (Specific class, thesis proposal/defense, etc.)

I am currently writing my thesis proposal. I have finished the classes but I am excited for my chance to do a deep dive into areas where I am passionate about.
