Kurt’s involvement with the Honors Program started when he was an undergrad English major and took an Honors seminar co-taught by Jeffrey R. Holland (then BYU president) and Robert K. Thomas (the program’s founder). He earned a master’s in organizational behavior from the BYU Marriott School, worked as a management consultant for 15 years, then returned to school for a PhD in management science at Stanford University, graduating in 2013. He then returned to BYU as full-time faculty, teaching in the Marriott School of Business. In 2023, he was a Fulbright Scholar at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
Kurt is passionate about helping students realize their unique potential as leaders. He has co-taught HONRS 227: The Comedy of Life with Dr. Kerry Soper. He now mentors students as they complete their Leadership Development Experience in HONRS 390R and occasionally teaches HONRS 310.
