Briefly tell us about yourself and your passions: I'm from Oregon, grew up in Washington, and was born in Texas. I am the younger of two brothers with four younger sisters. I play the organ and piano, love reading Brandon Sanderson, and lead an RPG campaign with his Cosmere RPG system. I'm a Mathematics major and I hope to become a professor (hopefully at BYU) eventually and do more math research.

What sparked your interest in your major? I wanted something that I could always study and would be foundational, and what is more foundational than mathematics? Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, etc. are all just applied mathematics.

What are three things that can always be found in your pantry/refrigerator? Potatoes, Chicken, Sourdough Starter

What do you do differently than most people? I use Obsidian Notes, an amazing text file based program, to record my class notes, spiritual thoughts, and other stuff I want to remember.

If you could instantly master any skill or talent, what would it be and why? 3D design. I love 3D printing and if I could perfect 3D design, I could print anything!

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program? I decided to join the Honors Program because I love challenging myself. I am also hoping for a career in academia and publishing my Thesis will definitely help with that.

What has been your favorite Honors experience? My first Unexpected Connections course was "Supernatural Creatures in Life and Literature" where we learned biological principles and used them to sketch out how fictional creatures could hypothetically exist in real life.

What is your next step in Honors? My next step is taking my third Unexpected Connections Course and the Great Questions Tutorial.
