I'm 20 years old and a third-year student from Bakersfield, CA. I love going to the movies, exercising, and writing fiction in my free time! I'm in the Air Force ROTC and plan to become a pilot after I graduate.

What is your favorite quote and why?

“Your daily life is your temple and your religion. When you enter into it take with you your all.” - Kahlil Gibran

What are three things that can always be found in your pantry/refrigerator?

Mango juice, fried rice, and frozen-grocery store pizza (which I firmly believe is far better than anything you can get at any restaurant!)

What has been your favorite part of your Honors experience?

I've enjoyed hearing from instructors with such diverse interests from different fields of study. Drawing knowledge from various sources is an incredibly important part of an education.

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?

I joined the Honors Program because I believed it was going to be an opportunity to challenge myself and stand out from among the crowd. I’m especially excited to write an Honors Thesis. Although that’s a ways away, I have a couple ideas in my head that I’m interested in, and I think are worth exploring.

What is your next step in the Honors?

Next semester, I’m taking an Unexpected Connection course, Honors 223 Sec 2: “Finding Truth.” Truthfully, I don’t know what to expect, but I never do when it comes to these classes. I’ve always been interested in exploring the relationship between science and philosophy, disagreement and truth. I look forward to the class!
