Major: Chemistry
Graduation: April 2021
I am from Spokane, Washington and have four younger siblings (two of whom are also at BYU!). I love science and doing research—I have worked in a biochemistry lab on campus for the last two years and really enjoy it. I also love to read, listen to and play music (I play the viola), and spend time outside.
What is your go-to comfort food?
Anything involving cheese! Mac and cheese, quesadillas, grilled cheese...or else ice cream. :)
What are your favorite books? / What are you currently reading?
Right now I'm re-reading The Things They Carried, one of my absolute favorite books I read in high school English.
Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?
I did Late Summer Honors before my freshman year at BYU, and I loved it! The interesting class topics and big, important questions also really caught my attention.
What has been your favorite part of your Honors Experience?
I absolutely LOVED the Biology/Letters class taught by Drs. Cutchins and Poole on disease in literature. I learned so many interesting new things and started to learn to think about the world in a different way.
What is your next step in Honors?
I just defended my Honors thesis, so all I have left is putting the finishing touches on my final draft!
