Megan Houston
Major: Communication Disorders
Graduation: April 2025

I am from Rochester New York. I am the middle child with two sisters. When I have time, I love to paint and read. I love to spend time outside on ridiculously long walks. I am fascinated with the ear; I think it is amazing how such a tiny part of our body is responsible for the sensations of hearing and balance. I also enjoy baking and cooking, especially for other people.

What’s one item on your bucket list?

Swim with sharks.

What are people often surprised to learn about you?

I sang a solo in a high school musical.

All modesty aside, what are you better at than 90% of people?

Making brownies.

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?

I decided to Join the Honors Program because I want to be involved with research during my undergraduate education and writing a thesis sounds terrifying yet so rewarding. I also love to be a part of the Honors community. Being in the Honors program has already blessed me with research opportunities I would not have without it. I love the growth that I am experiencing in this program!

What has been your favorite Honors experience?

I have loved all the events and Chocolate Chats, but I think my favorite thing has been the unexpected connection classes. I think they are really fun and unique classes that stretch me to think differently.

What is your next step in Honors?

I have one more unexpected connection class to take this semester.
