Major: Political Science
Minors: Arabic, International Development
Graduation: April 2023

Briefly tell us about yourself and your passions.

I am from Green River Wyoming and love anything chocolate. I am interested in the State Department and love studying politics. I am passionate about Beyonce and reading. In fact, studies show that women who "run the world" by being in politics help invest national money in more secure ways. I think that the world should put "love on top" as we learn to love our neighbors and find that each human is "irreplaceable." And while everyone is trying to "put a ring" on all the "single ladies" at BYU I just hope we can realize that we can all be a "halo" to those around us. I have enjoyed joining the "formation" of the Honors community and want to "hold up" more knowledge as I finish my last two years at BYU.

What is your favorite quote and why?

"I am not afraid of the storm, for I am learning how to sail my ship." I love this quote because often life seems chaotic or like a storm, but I love that life isn't about waiting for the calm times but enjoying life despite the crazy times and often because of these crazy times.

What's one item on your bucket list?

I would love to hike the Alps. I love to travel and since moving to Utah have loved hiking. I also would love to meet new people there and hopefully people who speak Arabic.

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?

I decided to join the Honors program because I love the thought of writing a thesis. I love knowing that there are still things to be discovered and so many ways to learn them. I like creating knowledge that is valuable and applicable and thought that a thesis was a good was to do this. Since then, I have learned a lot more about developing knowledge and have loved many of the professors I have worked with.

What has been your favorite part of your Honors experience?

My favorite part of my Honors experience has been being an Honors ambassador for one of my classes. It helped me get to know more of my classmates and professors and really learn about the Honors program.

What is your next step in Honors?

I am currently taking Honors 320 then will work on the thesis. I graduate in two years!
