I am from Henderson, Nevada. I have seven siblings, a puppy named Fergie, and a love for knowledge. I spend my free time reading, napping, crocheting, hanging out with friends, baking, snowboarding, and exercising . A fun fact about me is I am allergic to gluten, dairy, corn, corn starch, corn syrup, pumpkin, potatoes, and tomatoes.

What are your favorite books? / What are you currently reading?
I love to read nonfiction and fiction books My favorite fiction book of all time is The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. This book is transformational and I always recommend it to anyone who is asking for recommendations. At this moment I am reading, The Hobbit by J R R Tolkien for the first time. For non fiction my favorite book is Atomic Habits by James Clear. This book emphasizes the idea that little changes every day amount to a huge change overall. It is an amazing book and I highly recommend it. I am currently reading, The Forty Eight Laws of Power by Robert Greene.

What sparked your interest in your major?
I have had chronic migraines for my entire life so I have always been interested in migraines and chronic pain and what it looks like in the brain. Also, I read an interesting book, Brain Rules by John Medina and this novel really opened my eyes to the power of the brain and it made me wanting to study it more.

When you have 30 minutes of free time, what do you do?
I play songs on the piano! I used to teach piano in Las Vegas and I hope to do it again in Provo.

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?
I joined the Honors Program because it offered me something that I wasn’t getting in other classes. The complexity of the classes as well as the uniqueness of the topics and professors are something I don’t experience in my day to day classes.

What has been your favorite Honors experience?
Currently, I am taking a class that focuses on understanding the impact the creatures of supernatural creatures have on cultures as well as theorizing how supernatural creatures could biologically exist. It is an extremely fascinating class that makes me think in ways that I have never had to before.None of my biology class or neuroscience class had asked me to explain how, genetically witches have power. Or how vampires can change someone's entire DNA. This class takes my love for science and pushes me to apply it using an entire different lens

What is your next step in Honors? (Specific class, thesis proposal/defense, etc.)
My next step is to take another Honors class!
