I grew up in Orem, but I'm actually Australian-American! I'm a bookworm and a foodie and a cinephile and a major dog person. I love movies and the work that goes into making them -- I actually seriously considered majoring in Film Studies for a bit. I love to travel and explore the world, especially other cultures' art and food. My favorite food is a falafel I got from a street vendor in Paris once.
What sparked your interest in your major?
I've always loved art but learning about art law was what really sealed the deal.
What's the best-kept secret at BYU? Why?
The best vending machines are in the basement of the JFSB
All modesty aside, what are you better at than 90% of people? (It doesn’t have to be useful or serious--it can be something ridiculous.)
I'm actually very good at accents. Maybe it's because I'm half Australian? They tend to emerge when I'm around my family or friends.
What is something you can never be found without?
Lip balm, water bottle, phone, keys. Usually all held in one hand.
Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?
My dad, who's a professor here at BYU, taught an Unexpected Connections class a few years ago, and I loved hearing about the things he learned from the other professor. I figure any class where the teacher is learning something too must be worth taking!
What has been your favorite Honors experience?
The speakeasy-themed murder mystery night last year! I do love a good mystery
What is your next step in Honors? (Specific class, thesis proposal/defense, etc.)
I'm currently taking my last Unexpected Connections class and then I'm on to my Great Questions essay.
