My name is Alyssa Cragun, and I am so excited to be a part of the Honors Program here at BYU!! I love to do just about anything, especially if it is with family friends. Some of my most favorite activities include singing, swing dancing, weight lifting, hiking, and skiing. I am always down for an adventure! I chose to be a psychology major because I love people and want to help and lift them with love and increased knowledge. I love being outside and believe that the beauty of the earth is a miraculous expression of God's love for His children.
What’s one item on your bucket list?
I want to go sky diving! I love overcoming my fears, and jumping from the sky definitely qualifies on the list.
What are three things that can always be found in your pantry/refrigerator?
Rice, oranges, and protein bars
If you could instantly master any skill or talent, what would it be and why?
I would be able to fold paper airplanes with my tongue, because it's such a random skill but so impressive!
Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?
I joined the Honors Program because I was interested in the Interdisciplinary approach. I believe that there is always so many layers to every problem, and I love the approach the Honors Program uses to uncover more useful solutions.
What has been your favorite Honors experience?
I love studying in the Maeser building. It is so quiet and peaceful, and I can really focus in there.
What is your next step in Honors?
I am taking a class on the History of Food class right now. We are learning about how food has evolved over time, and even trying out new recipes in the lab!
