Sally Streeter
Major: Psychology
Graduation: April 2023

I am a Utah county girl through and through! I was born in Provo while my parents were at BYU and grew up in American Fork. I'm a proud graduate of American Fork High School (Go Cavemen!)

I am the doting older sister of 4 younger siblings, all of whom are absolute geniuses'. I love reading good books, talking with new people, going on walks, watching the stars, sunrises, and sunsets, and working in the Maeser! I am the Executive Director of the Y-Serve program Foster Love (which isn't running right now, but it will eventually!) where we have a weekly activity with current and former foster children. Through this, I have learned that someday I really want to be a foster mom. I also want to be a School Psychologist and help both teachers and students learn how to learn better and create psychologically healthier school environments. This will require graduate school, so I am so glad that I am in Honors to help me on that path!

What are your favorite books? / What are you currently reading?
I absolutely love classic literature. I adopted this love because when I was eleven, I got a kindle for my birthday, and the only free books were classics. So, being the book dragon I am, I gobbled them all up! I especially love Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, and anything by Louisa May Alcott.

What do you do differently than most people?
I am a quilter (quite the expensive hobby, let me tell you!) I have finished two quilts so far, and am on my third! My current quilt features a waveform of the main theme of the Raider's March from Indiana Jones!

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?
I chose to join honors because my parents told me it was amazing, and I loved everything I read about it. I was convinced my decision was right once I stepped foot in the Maeser building and I have never wanted to leave since!

What has been your favorite part of your Honors Experience?
Ah! I could go on and on! I have loved my Unexpected Connections courses so far, but I think I love my job the most! I get to meet so many honors students and discuss their plans and goals. Everyone is working towards such amazing things, and it leaves me in awe that I get to learn in a group of so many brilliant people.

What is your next step in Honors?
After my 223 class which I am enrolled in now, I will take HONRS 320 while starting to put together my thesis committee and finding something I want to research.
