Major: Finance
Graduation: April 2023

I come from Vancouver Island, Canada, and I love spending time in the outdoors and being with friends and family. I am currently pursuing a career in Corporate Finance with a particular interest in the retail and tech industries. I deeply value experiential learning and seek to cultivate growth opportunities both for myself as well as for those with whom I interact. Ultimately, my goal is to make financial literacy a second language for everyone.

What's one item on your bucket list?
Start a scholarship fund centered on helping students fund educational projects.

What are your favorite books? / What are you currently reading?
"The Compound Effect" by Darren Hardy and "The Go-Giver" by Bob Burg and John David Mann

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?
I was initially intrigued by the Honors Program's description of learning strategies and outcomes. It was a foreign idea at first, to change the way we saw the world and draw "unexpected connections" in the ways they claimed we would be able to. However, as my pre-existing opinions and beliefs were challenged throughout each course, I gained a profound appreciation for the kind of learning that occurs in the Honors Program.

What has been your favorite part of your Honors Experience?
The Honors Experience overall has been a very humbling one. I have learned to first challenge my own theories before arriving at a conclusion, and to welcome new ideas from every direction. For this reason, my favorite part of my Honors Experience has been, quite simply, the educational conquest that is led by our professors throughout each class. They are masterful artisans in their work, and I always look forward to learning something new from their lectures.

What is your next step in Honors?
I am currently in my second Honors GE course, Social Science and Arts. I still have time before I begin formulating my thesis, but I have already begun toying with several ideas!
