James is the Associate Director/Associate Research Professor Center for Comparative Medicine for City of Hope. Firmly entrenched in the fascinating world of lab animal medicine, he discovered his love for research collecting data for his honors thesis. "This passion for research merged with my other desire to study veterinary medicine to allow me to find a perfect niche in which I get to practice medicine in a research environment," he said.

"The honors program encouraged me to dig deep into problems rather than to ignore them. The program showed me that there is value is asking and answer questions even if there is no obvious reason why at that moment. The honors program encouraged me to use my talents to serve others via public service as elected official (school board in my city) as well." James also volunteers with the Rotary club and Duarte Education Foundation. He and his wife Megan have three children. Connect on LinkedIn.
