Harrison James
Major: Strategic Management
Graduation: August 2023

I am from the Washington D.C. area and have been at BYU since I returned from my mission in 2019. I love to do anything in the outdoors, whether it be hiking, biking, snowboarding, kayaking, etc. I have an intense love for food from all over the world; one of my biggest dreams is to travel the world just to try the unique food from different cultures. Although I have a keen interest in business, I am fascinated by and love learning about astrophysics, quantum mechanics, biology, history, and engineering. I also love languages and am fluent in Spanish and French.

What's your guilty pleasure?
In my spare time I often watch nerdy videos about physics on YouTube.

What's one item on your bucket list?
Travel to every continent in the world (yes, including Antarctica).

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?
Because of my love for so many different disciplines, choosing a major and committing to one field of study was very difficult for me. When I heard about the Honors Program, I immediately wanted to join to receive the interdisciplinary education that it offers.

What has been your favorite part of your Honors Experience?
Besides being able to learn about disciplines that would otherwise be closed to me, my favorite part of my Honors experience has been my interactions with the wonderful professors and students within the program. I have enjoyed having deep, insightful conversations in and outside of Honors classes that leave me enlightened.

What is your next step in Honors?
My next steps in Honors is to finish my unexpected connections courses and work on my thesis proposal. I am planning on taking HONRS 225 next semester and am looking forward to it!
