B.S. in Finance
Graduating April 2020

“I'm a hardworking husband who loves to scuba dive, read, play the double bass, and play chess. I enjoy developing solutions to complex problems and decided to study Finance because I felt it would give me the chance to advise large corporations as they attempt to overcome challenges which affect many people.”

What’s one item on your bucket list?
“Traveling to space.”

What are your future plans?
“I'll be beginning my career as an investment banker with J.P. Morgan and hope to eventually join a quantitatively-focused hedge fund. As such, my thesis focused on whether or not the merger of multiple firms operating in diverse industries has a significant effect on the long-term return volatility of the equity securities representing ownership in the surviving entity. I believe that the opportunity my thesis provided for me to perform quantitatively rigorous, algorithm-driven analysis of large data sets will benefit me in my career in the financial services industry.”

Why did you decide to join the Honors Program?
“I have many, varying interests wanted to challenge myself. I have been able to study and expose myself to a variety of subjects and ways of thinking through the program and have found it to be simultaneously rewarding and challenging.”

What has been your favorite part of your Honors Experience?
“Having the opportunity to learn from such a diverse group of students and professors. Many of my classes expose me to students with similar views and interests as my own, and participating in Honors has given me the chance to interact with and learn from many students who have differing views, experiences, and backgrounds.”

What is your next step in Honors?
“Graduation! I recently completed my Honors thesis and am excited to be moving towards the final phase of the program.”
