Welcome to the BYU Honors Program!
On behalf of the Honors Program at Brigham Young University, we welcome you! Whether you are an incoming freshman still deciding whether Honors is for you or just wanting to know more about the program, this is the right place to be. Now is an exciting time to be joining Honors! We have begun to implement a new Honors Program which continues to "broaden and deepen the educational experience of students and faculty, and to develop the intellectual integrity and moral character that define disciple-scholarship, both for the individual and for the learning community" as it has done for thousands of Honors students and faculty over the 50+ years of its existence (see Mission Statement). In order to enroll in the program or just learn more, we invite you to visit our online orientation.
What is Honors?
We are a community of scholars. In fact, we are a community of scholars who seek to broaden and deepen their undergraduate experience here at BYU and to become a life-long learner.
"University Honors" is a distinction awarded to all graduates of BYU who have met the honors requirements. This prestigious designation is recorded on the university diploma, on the official transcript of grades, and in the graduation program. It is widely recognized as an indication of exceptional academic achievement and marks the highest baccalaureate distinction BYU awards.
